Clinical Nutrition Unit
Continuum of Care

The Clinical Nutrition Unit is a multidisciplinary team made up of the dieticians, nurses, a pharmacist and physicians who counsel cancer patients on their special nutritional needs. Through the Nutrition Assessment Clinic in the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center, we provide nutrition evaluation by a registered and licensed dietician. The clinic serves cancer patients who may have nutritional problems, such as weight loss, poor appetite, difficulty chewing or swallowing, and difficulty eating due to complications from chemotherapy and radiation. We also assist tube-fed cancer patients. Our dietician will provide nutritional assessment, education and a nutrition care plan to ensure that every patient has an individualized plan that suits their particular nutritional needs.
