For premature babies, children who suffer from a birth defect and other at-risk newborn, the Ronald McDonald® Children’s Hospital of Loyola University Medical Center offers a unique follow-up clinic.
Here, high-risk neonates are offered developmental screening and referral through the first 3 years of life. Evaluations at the clinic are performed by an expert multidisciplinary team, including neonatologists, nurse practitioners, occupational therapists, physical therapists and a nutrition and a developmental specialist. Should the need arise this same team is available to assist during a hospitalization at the Ronald McDonald Children’s hospital.
