Becoming A Patient: Our Facilities

We work very hard to make the Ronald McDonald® Children’s Hospital of Loyola the best possible environment for our young patients and their families. Our facilities in Maywood are a hospital within a hospital, part of Loyola University Medical Center, a nationally recognized teaching hospital.

Our facilities include:

  • A 50-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
  • A 14-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit designed with the latest technology and family amenities
  • 36 general pediatric beds
  • A monitored unit for intermediate care
  • An in-house classroom
  • A family lounge and kitchen

Scheduling a Tour
Patients can learn about their pending surgery and tour the Ronald McDonald Children's Hospital of Loyola University Medical Center in advance of their scheduled procedure. The whole family is welcome for the tour, which includes:

  • An introduction to the hospital
  • A special video designed for young children to explore the surgery room and meet the staff in a comforting way
  • A tour of the general pediatric and pediatric intensive care areas
  • Some hands-on activities that will allow young children to explore the medical equipment that maybe used during their procedure
  • A list of resources and suggested reading for parents

Tours can be scheduled Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Community Outreach

RMCH Mobile Clinic
