Plastic
surgeons at Loyola University Health System (Loyola)
perform the full range of cosmetic and reconstructive
surgical procedures and have subspecialty expertise
in maxillofacial surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery
and care of difficult to heal wounds.
Cosmetic procedures performed include abdominoplasty
(tummy tuck), blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), breast
augmentation, brow lift, filler injections, facelift,
liposuction, and rhinoplasty
or otoplasty (cosmetic surgery of the nose or ears).
Among the many reconstructive procedures offered are
treatment of skin diseases and skin cancer; scar revision;
breast reconstruction or reduction; treatment of facial
deformity, disease and trauma; correction of nasal or
ear deformities; and treatment of tumors of the bone
and soft tissue.

Hand
Surgery
Plastic surgeons specializing in hand surgery correct
finger deformities, such as Dupuytren’s contracture,
trigger finger, extra digits and webbed fingers. They
also treat hand and forearm wounds, tendon and nerve
injuries, hand fractures, vascular injuries of the hand
and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Occuloplastic Ophthalmic Surgery
Occuloplastic physicians offer blepharoplasty, minor procedures and dermatological fillers.
Wound
and Burn Treatment
Management of acute and chronic complex burns is provided,
as is reconstructive burn treatment.
Research
Investigators
are studying the biology of aging skin, wound healing
agents, anatomical landmarks in breast augmentation
and speech patterns after cleft palate repair.
