Dermatology Services

Dermatologists at Loyola University Health System (Loyola) diagnose and treat skin disorders of all types, including skin cancer, acne, atopic dermatitis, dry skin, psoriasis, skin growths, fungal infections, ethnic skin disorders and warts. They have a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, including melanoma, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Other specific interests include pediatric dermatology, phototherapy and allergic contact dermatitis.

In addition, our physicians are all board-certified dermatologists and thus are specifically trained in, and dedicated to, the health and beauty of your skin. Our cosmetic dermatologists, located at LaGrange Park, are specialists in the latest aesthetic procedures.

Specialty Services
Cosmetic Dermatology and Laser Surgery
State of the art lasers are utilized to provide laser surgery , including laser hair removal, photo-facial and skin rejuvenation treatments, laser and IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments of brown spots and rosacea, laser removal of visible facial blood vessels and vascular birth marks, and laser treatment of leg veins.

Botulinum toxin injections for wrinkles, prescription strength chemical peels, photo- dynamic therapy (PDT), sclerotherapy for leg veins, treatment of aging skin and skin rejuvenation services including use of the latest soft tissue fillers for treatment of fine lines and deep wrinkles, dermabrasion, IPL treatments of aging skin and brown spots, photo rejuvenation, and cosmetic removal of benign skin growths are among other cosmetic skin procedures offered.

Center for Skin Cancer
A comprehensive center offers skin cancer detection, mole mapping to observe abnormal changes and Mohs Micrographic Surgery for skin cancer, among other services.

Psoriasis Center
The latest therapies, including UVA, UVB, narrowband UVB and PUVA phototherapy for psoriasis is safely given under a doctor’s care.

Research
Clinical trials in melanoma through the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center include testing a therapeutic vaccine for advanced melanoma.
