THIRTY-TWO LOYOLA DOCTORS NAMED TO CHICAGO MAGAZINE'S TOP DOCTORS LIST 
MAYWOOD, Ill. -- Thirty-two Loyola University Health System physicians have been named to Chicago magazine's annual list of Chicago's Top Doctors.

The list was compiled by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a health-care research and information company. Castle Connolly surveyed physicians and the medical leadership of leading hospitals to identify "highly skilled, exceptional doctors."

The list is included in the January, 2010 issue of Chicago magazine, on newsstands now.

"We are honored to have so many of our physicians on the Top Doctors list," said Dr. Paul Whelton, president and CEO of Loyola University Health System. "They have earned the esteem of their colleagues by excelling in our three primary missions -- patient care, cutting-edge research and medical education."

Three doctors with part-time Loyola affiliations are on the list: Dr. Deborah Couch (addiction psychiatry); Dr. Howard Greisler (vascular surgery) and Dr. Thomas John (ophthalmology).

Also on the list, for cardiovascular disease, is Dr. Lloyd Klein of Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, which is part of the Loyola system.
