LOYOLA WELCOMES NEW PHYSICIAN TO ITS DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY AND BEHAVIORAL NEUROSCIENCES 
Jennifer Kurth board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry 
MAYWOOD, Ill. -- Dr. Jennifer Kurth has been appointed assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences, Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.

Her professional interests include attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, depression, anxiety, autism and developmental delays. Kurth is certified in child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

"I'm very excited to be here at Loyola because there are a lot of opportunities to work with and design programs with other departments, to teach and do research and create new programming to improve patient care," said Kurth, who is also the director of the department's residency program.

A resident of Chicago, Kurth began her affiliation with Loyola in February 2009. She received her medical degree in 2002 from Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pomona, Calif. In 2005, she completed a general psychiatry residency at the University of California Irvine Medical Center in Orange, Calif. In 2007, she completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Kurth most recently served as an attending physician at the Warren Wright Adolescent Center of Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

She is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association and the Illinois Psychiatric Society. Kurth actively participates in many hospital and medical school committees, is co-author of Challenging Depression and Sleep and Psychiatric Disorders in Children and Adolescents, and has made a number of presentations and published dozens of articles in peer-reviewed journals.
